Charlie Harper Wall Calendar: “Minimal realism” was how wildlife artist Charley Harper defined his style. “I don’t count feathers,” he said, “I just count the wings.” Born in rural West Virginia, Harper (1922�) developed an unmistakable style, capturing an animal’s essence with geometric shapes and vivid colors. His work has been featured in many publications, including the two books from which this calendar’s twelve images are selected: Beguiled by the Wild (1994) and Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life (2007).
